Concrete Pump Hire

When the wagon can't reach, the pump can. Boom and line pumps booked together with your concrete, one job, one invoice.

We hire concrete boom pumps (24m-56m reach) and line pumps across the Midlands, with line pumps starting from £380 + VAT. The pump is booked on the same job sheet as your ready-mix delivery, so one coordinator manages both the wagon and the pump from a single arrival window, no two-truck timing problems.

Why Pump?

Concrete where the truck can't go

Rear gardens, basements, upper floors, conservatories with the fence already up, anywhere a 32-tonne wagon can't reverse onto. A concrete pump can snake through, reaching where a truck simply can't, turning a job that looked impossible into one that runs like clockwork.

  • Rear gardens with side-access only
  • Upper-floor slabs and roof pours
  • Basements and below-ground levels
  • Long driveways or sites with weight limits

Pump Types

Boom pumps & line pumps

We arrange the right pump for the access, a 24m boom for typical domestic rear-garden pours, larger booms up to 56m for bigger sites, or a line pump where headroom is tight.

  • Boom pumps: 24m, 32m, 36m, 42m, 47m and 56m reach
  • Line pumps: ground-level access, up to 100m of pipe
  • Reach over hedges, fences, garages and conservatories
  • Operator and pipework included as standard

Booking & Site Prep

One coordinator, one delivery window

The biggest mistake on pumped pours is the wagon and pump turning up an hour apart. We schedule both off the same job sheet, same coordinator, same arrival window, no standing time.

  • We confirm pump access & setup space when you book
  • Recommended mix slump (S3) batched automatically
  • Pump arrives 30 mins ahead of the wagon to set up
  • Wash-out point agreed in advance, no surprise hose-down

Common Questions

Concrete pump hire FAQs

How much does it cost to hire a concrete pump?

From £380 + VAT for a domestic line pump. Boom pumps (24m-56m) are quoted on volume and access. Pump, operator and pipework included, no fuel surcharge.

When do I need a concrete pump?

When a mixer truck can't reach the pour, rear gardens, basements, upper floors, sites with weight limits or fences blocking access. If you're not sure, see our concrete pumping guide or send us a photo of the access.

What's the difference between a boom pump and a line pump?

A boom pump uses a hydraulic arm to reach over obstacles (24m-56m). A line pump pushes concrete through ground-level pipework, useful where headroom is tight. Most domestic rear-garden pours use a boom; basements and indoor pours often use a line pump.

How far in advance do I need to book?

Usually 2-5 working days for boom pumps. We schedule the pump and concrete wagon on one job sheet so they arrive in sequence. Call us for last-minute availability.

Do I need a special concrete mix for pumping?

Yes, pumped pours need a flowable mix (typically S3 slump). We batch this automatically when you add a pump to your order. Our pumped concrete mix page covers the technical details.
