What We Supply

The pour you're planning, the mix you need

Most DIY pours fall into one of these six categories. Click through for full specs and instant pricing, no haggling, no hidden fees.

Shed bases & summerhouse pads

C25/30 · 100mm

A 1-2m³ shed base is the most common DIY pour. C25/30 mix at 100mm is plenty strong for any garden building, and a single mini-mix wagon does the lot.

Driveways

C28/35 · 150mm

Domestic driveway concrete for cars and small vans. Heavy-duty C32/40 if you've got a caravan, horsebox or commercial van regularly parked.

Garage floors

C25/30 · 150mm

Structural slab for the garage. Strong enough to take a car, smooth enough to paint or tile. Mesh recommended for any garage that takes vehicle weight.

Patio & path bases

C20/25 · 100mm

Sub-base for paving slabs, decking pads, hot-tub bases. Mini-mix delivery from 1m³, no need to bag-mix on the day.

Hot tub & summerhouse pads

C28/35 · 150mm

Hot tubs are heavy when full, typically 1.5-2 tonnes. Use a stronger mix (C28/35) with a thicker pour (150mm) to be safe. Mesh recommended.

Fence post (bulk)

GEN3 · C20/25

Ready-mix replaces postcrete for any job over ~10 posts. Faster, more consistent and cheaper per cubic metre.

Why Choose Us

The questions every first-timer asks

01

"What if I order too much?"

You won't pay for it. The driver calls the plant with the final volume poured, we only charge for what comes out of the wagon. It's the one bit of the concrete industry we've fixed.

02

"What if it rains?"

Light rain is fine once it's down, it actually helps curing. If there's a downpour forecast, call us by 4pm the day before and we'll reschedule free. We'd rather move you than ruin your pour.

03

"Can I barrow it in time?"

Most shed bases (1-2m³) are comfortable solo with help from a mate. Anything over 3m³, consider a pump, we can arrange one from £380. Not sure? Ring us and describe your access.

04

"Is ready-mix stronger than DIY bag mix?"

Much stronger and more consistent. A standard DIY bag is around C10-C16. Our shed-base mix is C28/35, roughly double the strength. Your shed, summerhouse or hot-tub base will outlast you.

05

"What if I can't finish in time?"

You get 20-30 minutes of working time on site. If you're worried, order the mix with a slow-set retarder (we add it on request), doubles your pour window. Call us and we'll advise.

06

"How much is delivery?"

Free within 8 miles of our plants. Further out, it's priced into your quote, no surprises. Enter your postcode in the quote tool and the full price appears.

Common Questions

Ready-mix concrete: the basics

How much is ready-mix concrete?

Ready-mix concrete prices vary by mix grade and volume, typical UK domestic mixes (GEN3, C20/25) sit around £100-£140 per m³, with higher-grade structural mixes priced higher. Use our concrete calculator to estimate volume, then get a live quote on the order page.

What is ready-mix concrete?

Ready-mix concrete is concrete batched at a plant to a specified mix design, cement, aggregates, water and admixtures combined in controlled proportions, then delivered fresh to site by mixer wagon. It saves the time and inconsistency of mixing on-site and gives you a known performance grade with paperwork to match.

How much concrete do I need?

Volume = length × width × depth in metres, plus around 10% for wastage and over-dig. Our concrete calculator does this for you and rounds to what we can deliver. For volumetric loads we round to the nearest 0.5m³; drum-mixer loads round to the nearest full cubic metre.

Where can I buy ready-mix concrete near me?

We deliver ready-mix concrete across the Midlands from plants in Coventry and surrounding areas. See our locations page for the full coverage map. 1m³ minimum, no small-load surcharge, next-day slots subject to availability.

How do I prepare for a concrete delivery?

Confirm the wagon access route the day before, minimum 3m width and 4m height for a standard 8-wheel wagon. Have your shutters / edge boards in place, the dig clean of debris, and at least two people ready with rakes and shovels at the discharge point. We discharge directly off the chute, or via pump if you've booked one.

What is the minimum concrete delivery?

1m³ on most domestic deliveries, with no small-load surcharge. Higher-grade structural mixes occasionally have a higher minimum, confirm when you book.

FAQ

Audience-specific questions

What's the minimum order?

1m³, enough for a small shed base or a few fence posts. Below that, you're usually better off with bags from a builder's merchant.

How long before I can walk on it? Drive on it?

Walk on it after 24-48 hours (be gentle). Drive on it after 7 days. Full strength at 28 days. See our curing guide for specifics.

Do I need to be in when it's delivered?

Someone responsible over 18 needs to be there to show the driver where to pour and confirm the final volume. If you can't be, a neighbour or mate works fine.

What about reinforcement, do I need mesh or bar?

For shed bases, garden paths and small patios, usually no. For drives, garage floors and anything a vehicle sits on, A142 mesh is a good idea. Call us if unsure, happy to advise.

Can I order concrete for a weekend pour?

We deliver Monday to Saturday. Saturday slots book up a week in advance in summer, order early.

What if I've never poured before, will the driver help?

Drivers position the chute and advise on spread, but they're not labourers, the pouring, levelling and finishing is on you (or your hired help). Have 1-2 extra hands ready for anything over 1.5m³.
