Why Choose Us

Why Midlands farms choose us

01

Built for rural access

Our wagons handle farm access, narrow lanes, gated yards, field gates. We'll talk through access before the pour, not on the day.

02

SRC on request

Sulphate-resisting cement for silage clamps, slurry stores, and effluent-exposed concrete. Mix designs signed off against DEFRA and SSAFO requirements.

03

Flexible delivery windows

Farm work doesn't always happen 9-5. We schedule around your milking times, harvest windows, or livestock movement, not ours.

04

Large-volume pours handled

Yard re-concreting, silage clamp construction, grain store floors, we'll run wagons continuously from both plants for 20m³+ pours.

05

Trade terms for farming accounts

30-day invoicing with monthly statements. No card payments at the gate. Set up an account once and order by phone whenever you need.

06

Fibre & reinforcement options

Polypropylene or steel fibre reinforcement to reduce crack propagation on yards and livestock floors. Ask us for the spec that suits your application.

Common Questions

Ready-mix concrete: the basics

How much is ready-mix concrete?

Ready-mix concrete prices vary by mix grade and volume, typical UK domestic mixes (GEN3, C20/25) sit around £100-£140 per m³, with higher-grade structural mixes priced higher. Use our concrete calculator to estimate volume, then get a live quote on the order page.

What is ready-mix concrete?

Ready-mix concrete is concrete batched at a plant to a specified mix design, cement, aggregates, water and admixtures combined in controlled proportions, then delivered fresh to site by mixer wagon. It saves the time and inconsistency of mixing on-site and gives you a known performance grade with paperwork to match.

How much concrete do I need?

Volume = length × width × depth in metres, plus around 10% for wastage and over-dig. Our concrete calculator does this for you and rounds to what we can deliver. For volumetric loads we round to the nearest 0.5m³; drum-mixer loads round to the nearest full cubic metre.

Where can I buy ready-mix concrete near me?

We deliver ready-mix concrete across the Midlands from plants in Coventry and surrounding areas. See our locations page for the full coverage map. 1m³ minimum, no small-load surcharge, next-day slots subject to availability.

How do I prepare for a concrete delivery?

Confirm the wagon access route the day before, minimum 3m width and 4m height for a standard 8-wheel wagon. Have your shutters / edge boards in place, the dig clean of debris, and at least two people ready with rakes and shovels at the discharge point. We discharge directly off the chute, or via pump if you've booked one.

What is the minimum concrete delivery?

1m³ on most domestic deliveries, with no small-load surcharge. Higher-grade structural mixes occasionally have a higher minimum, confirm when you book.

FAQ

Audience-specific questions

Can you deliver to farms outside your 25-mile radius?

Yes for larger orders. We routinely deliver to farms across the Midlands, the cost per m³ climbs slightly with distance, but for 10m³+ it's usually economical. Call 024 7636 1448 with your postcode.

What mix do I need for a silage clamp?

C40/50 with sulphate-resisting cement (SRC) is the standard. For the base, 150mm depth with A393 mesh. Walls depend on size and design, we can run you through the spec.

Do you provide DEFRA / SSAFO compliance paperwork?

Yes. All mix design certificates, delivery tickets, and BSI/QSRMC documentation supplied as standard. Comply with SSAFO Regs 2010 and any local farm inspection requirements.

Can you pump into awkward areas?

Yes, for raised cubicle beds, elevated slurry stores, or anywhere wagons can't reach. We arrange the pump as part of the booking.

What about fibre-reinforced mixes?

Polypropylene fibres for crack control (budget option) or steel fibres for high-load areas. Adds a small premium to the mix price. Good for yards, cubicle floors, and grain store slabs.

Is there a minimum order?

1m³ technically, though small-load delivery to rural locations may carry a surcharge over 15 miles. Larger pours (4m³+) have no distance surcharge. Call for a tailored quote.
